Wimbledon qualifying continues, 16-year-old
Mirra Andreeva has continued her unbeaten run on grass making it to the final round at SW19.
Andreeva is now one win away from making her main draw debut at SW19 after seeing off Chloé Paquet in an hour.
This in a 6-1, 6-2 victory and she will play one more round tomorrow to seal her spot.
There has been plenty of intrigue surrounding the Russian who made a splash on the clay court season in Madrid and at Roland Garros in particular.
Unsure if she would get the visa to play Wimbledon, she also saw wildcard hopes that previously likely would've been forthcoming extinguished due to nationality.
This meant Andreeva who has never played on grass has had to play qualifying but has taken to the surface like a duck to water and despite being a novice compared to clay will be a draw the big names will look to avoid if she wins her final round.
Other players looking to head closer include her sister Erika Andreeva who faces Dayana Yastremska, Elina Avanesyan who also stood out at Roland Garros and reached the latter stages last week in Berlin. She will face Storm Hunter.
Elena-Gabriela Ruse, Taylor Townsend, Sofia Kenin, Eva Lys and Coco Vandeweghe also are either in action or will be today. Su-Wei Hsieh is also through already.
In the Men's, Thiago Seyboth Wild after heading to Brazil to answer domestic violence allegations is back in action. He is on the verge against Pierre Hugues Herbert.
