Ashlyn Krueger facing Magdalena Frech on any other day wouldn't be top of an agenda apart from for two fans who went head to head in a hilarious cheering war captured on camera during their match at the Rome Open.
Frech who will now face Coco Gauff in the second round saw off Krueger 7-6`(2), 6-3 with two fans stealing the show from the stands. @kostekcanu a well known user on social media platform X in the tennis community repeatedly cheered for Ashlyn and a 10-year-old girl who was fan of Frech would repeatedly hit back. As users pointed out, it was the latter who had the last laugh.
As the user said: "Humbling to get owned by a child, but I will become a better fan". A lot found it hilarious though saying it made their day and the Polish fan's day was certainly made seemingly when Frech won.
