British tennis star Emma Raducanu has resumed her quest to rediscover the previous glory that saw her capture her maiden Grand Slam title, and appears to have a schedule set for the 2024 WTA season.
The former World No.10 missed more than half of last season due to wrist and ankle injuries, but made her return this year in Australia. After a disappointing performance in Melbourne, Raducanu competed at the Abu Dhabi Open, where she was eliminated in the second round by Ons Jabeur. With more matches under her belt, the 21-year old has her sights set on several more tournaments this season.
The 2021 US Open champion might require wildcard entries to some of the bigger events as her current protected ranking of World No.103 is not good enough for direct entry while she is still outside the top 200 in the official rankings. Nonetheless, Raducanu remains a crowd-favorite and will likely be granted a spot in the main draw. Below is her tentative schedule in chronological order, with the Qatar Open up first and running from February 11-17, 2024.
Qatar Open
Indian Wells
Miami Open
Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
Madrid Open
Italian Open
Roland Garros
Nottingham Open
Birmingham Classic
Wimbledon
Paris Olympics
Canadian Open
Cincinnati Open
US Open
Raducanu’s schedule for the second half of the 2024 season will depend her on performances during the first half of the season and whether or not she has moved back into the top 100 of the WTA Rankings. If she remains lowly ranked then she could opt to play several WTA 250 events or even participate in ITF tournaments.
