The WTA calendar just became richer by 3 events as the organization announced 3 new indoor hard courts events to be held in Nur Sultan, Cluj-Napoca and Columbus.
All of the 3 new events will be held this autumn and all will be played on indoor hard courts. A new 125 K event will be held in Columbus, Ohio in the week of the 20th of September. One week after that we will see a WTA event in Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan called the Astana Open.
The tour will also return to Romania in the autumn with the Transylvania Open held in Cluj-Napoca in the week of October 25th. That event will be a WTA 250 event. These changes to the calendar won't be the final ones as several more events are still reviewing dates.
One such event is the
WTA Finals which will announce the final date and location in the forthcoming week. The Hana Bank Korea Open in Seoul will not take place in the week of September 20th but should return to the schedule at a later date this year.
