Rybakina roars back! Defending champion Elena Rybakina came from a set down to beat Shelby Rogers 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 #Wimbledon
WTA’s Big Three are set to be separated as Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina is likely to be overtaken next week.
The three players featuring Poland’s Iga Swiatek, Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka and Rybakina have ruled the world of women’s tennis in the last three years, winning multiple Grand Slams in between.
However, the 24-year-old is set to depart from the club as she is set to be demoted to fourth place in the latest WTA rankings.
She is likely to be taken over by America’s Jessica Pegula who will have more rating points after he success in the ongoing Citi DC Open.
Rybakina has only won one Grand Slam in her career which was back in 2022 where she defeated Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur in the final with a score of 3–6, 6–2, 6–2.
Since then, the current world number three has found it hard to replicate her success in other major events.
Her best outing this year was in the Australian Open where she lost the final of the competition to world number two Sabalenka with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 6–4.
