Roger Federer Wimbledon 2020
The 29th edition of the ATP 250 Qatar Open will host notable players at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha next week.
The three-time Doha champion Roger Federer is back on the court for the first time in 14 months, facing Daniel Evans or Jeremy Chardy in the bottom quarter. Dominic Thiem, Andrey Rublev and Denis Shapovalov are the other top seeds, hoping to win the title and grab 250 ATP points.
The US Open champion Dominic Thiem is the top seed, facing the Australian Open semi-finalist Aslan Karatsev in his first match. The 2019 winner Roberto Bautista Agut faces Reilly Opelka and Alexander Bublik en route to a potential Thiem clash.
The defending champion Andrey Rublev seeks the Rotterdam title before heading to Doha, where he plays Stan Wawrinka and Marton Fucsovics in the second quarter. Denis Shapovalov, David Goffin, Filip Krajinovic, Taylor Fritz, and Lorenzo Sonego are in the third quarter. Roger Federer will start the season against Daniel Evans or Jeremy Chardy in the second round.
The Rotterdam semi-finalist Borna Coric or John Millman are Roger's potential quarter-final opponents. The Swiss has an excellent chance to score a couple of wins and earn momentum after the most extended break of his career.
