While the Women's Final only currently includes Jessica Pegula due to rain delays, the men's final will begin at around 22:00 CET this evening at the Canadian Open (National Bank Open).

It features two players who in victory will seal their biggest titles of their career in Alex de Minaur and Jannik Sinner.

As ever, TennisUpToDate will take you through the top talking points from Toronto, their previous meetings to preview a thrilling final.

Route to the Final - Alex de Minaur

At his destructive best all week, Alex de Minaur has really caught light and being unseeded has also come through a seriously tough run-in.

Starting off in the first round, he faced Cameron Norrie before taking down home favourite Gabriel Diallo. Taylor Fritz who has barely lost barring at the DC Open in recent months was the next to taste defeat.

While Daniil Medvedev followed in two sets. But perhaps most impressive was his victory over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

The Spaniard similar to De Minaur was one of the main talking points this week obliterating all big names put in front of him. But it proved to be a mission too far as De Minaur took him apart 6-1, 6-3.

Route to the Final - Jannik Sinner

But while Alex de Minaur's route through was tough, so was seventh seed Jannik Sinner. He started off against compatriot Matteo Berrettini taking him down in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

Andy Murray was supposed to be next up but a walk-over saw the Brit withdraw and hand Sinner an extra breather of sorts. But he followed that up by vanquishing Gael Monfils who has had an utterly superb resurgence in recent weeks.

Followed by the spoiler, Tommy Paul who dumped out Carlos Alcaraz again for the second consecutive year and denied fans a potential battle between two players who call themselves rivals.

For Sinner, it would be an eighth title but a first ATP 1000 and a third times the charm scenario. He has lost two previous Masters finals.

De Minaur on the other hand has never reached an ATP Masters 1000 final but has won seven titles similarly. Albeit with six runners-up spots.

Head to Head wise, Sinner leads 4-0 and two of those meetings came last year in Madrid and Australia with the Italian winning all four. He will be favourite to make it 5-0.
