It is Day Six at the 2023 Madrid Open with Coco Gauff facing Paula Badosa and Dominic Thiem taking on Stefanos Tsitsipas among the standout ties on Saturday.

Gauff saw off Irene Burillo Escorihuela with relative ease after an early scare sweeping off game after game for a 6-4, 6-1 win and will now set up a blockbuster tie with the home hero Spaniard.

She saw off Elisabetta Cocciaretto in three sets on Thursday and will look to build on early form shown in Stuttgart on the clay.

In terms of head to head, it is Badosa that leads Gauff 2-1 with the Spaniard winning their last tie at the 2022 Silicon Valley Classic in straight sets.

That is third on the main Manolo Santana Stadium with Aryna Sabalenka and Daniil Medvedev highlights before that facing Camila Osorio.

As well as Andrea Vavassori who saw off Andy Murray in his opener after coming through qualifying.

Thiem will look to take the next step on his comeback trail on Saturday when he faces Stefanos Tsitsipas.

In a similar situation in terms of injuries albeit not having returned to the top level yet, Kyle Edmund was the Austrian's first round win but now takes on the fourth seed.

He leads their head to head 5-3. Albeit with their last tie being at the 2020 ATP Finals.

Maria Sakkari ends the main stadium schedule against Rebeka Masarova. Others on stadium courts include Taylor Fritz, Caroline Garcia, Felix-Auger-Aliassime, Frances Tiafoe.

As well as Liudmila Samsonova facing Jelena Ostapenko and 15-year-old Mirra Andreeva will face her next test in Magda Linette.

Ben Shelton also faces Jan-Lennard Struff out on Court Five, as he continues his European Clay adventure in a stacked days play at the Caja Magica.
