Andre Agassi is reportedly in line to be announced as a Laver Cup captain, according to tennis podcast host Craig Shapiro.
Agassi is one of the most decorated players in the sport, winning eight singles Grand Slam titles and becoming the first person to win the 'Golden Slam' (career Grand Slam and Olympic gold medal).
The American has largely stayed away from the game since his retirement, briefly coaching Novak Djokovic for the best part of a year in 2017, but still appears in exhibition events for charity. Shapiro stated on X that the announcement is imminent, saying: "Sources telling me Agassi is going to be named new Laver Cup captain."
The tournament sees a team of players from around the world take on stars representing the continent of Europe and is tennis' answer to the Ryder Cup in golf - where players compete against each other in a mixture of singles and doubles matches to earn points for their team.
The 2024 Laver Cup will be held in Berlin, Germany in September. Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe have been the only captains of Team Europe and Team World respectively since the inception of the tournament in 2017.
