The draw for the 2020
Roland Garros that will be played from 27th September - 11th October has been released as we can expect a lot of interesting matchups on the clay.
As every year, the best tennis players gathered in France to play the only Grand Slam tournament on the clay. However, this year it's not the second Grand Slam tournament and it is not played in May as usual. The 2020 Roland Garros starts in September and it is a 3rd Grand Slam tournament of the 2020 season and we already know the full men's draw.
Novak Djokovic came to France as the first-seeded player and
Rafael Nadal will be the second-seeded. However, the third-seeded
Dominic Thiem is a fresh Grand Slam champion as the Austrian triumphed in Flushing Meadows. All of these players can expect interesting first-round matchups as there are no easy matches at the Grand Slam tournament.
World number 1, Novak Djokovic will take on Mikael Ymer in the first round, while his biggest rival for the trophy, Rafael Nadal will meet Egor Gerasimov. The Spaniard will try to add his 13th Roland Garros title, but it won't be easy as Novak Djokovic will also try to win another Grand Slam trophy. We'll also see two Grand Slam champions,
Andy Murray and
Stan Wawrinka meet in the first round.
Dominic Thiem, who was a runner-up at the 2018 and 2019 Roland Garros will also see an interesting opponent as he will play against Marin Cilic. The fourth-seeded
Daniil Medvedev will meet Marton Fucsovics, while no. 5 in France,
Stefanos Tsitsipas will play against Jaume Munar. 2020 US Open finalist,
Alexander Zverev will be playing Dennis Novak in the first round in France.
