Juan Carlos Ferrero watches on.
Juan Carlos Ferrero has been doing the media rounds this week and will eventually return to tennis after his fractious split with Carlos Alcaraz albeit it is unlikely to be with Jannik Sinner at least as of right now.
Sinner is always subject to some speculation given that the Italian ace always has the Darren Cahill of it all looming large. The Australian who formerly coached Simona Halep prior to joining Sinner has been one of two masterminds of his great success alongside a certain Simone Vagnozzi.
He was due to retire at the end of 2025 but decided against it for now so of course that will always happen eventually and for Sinner a new coach as a result would be on the horizon. Enter stage left Juan Carlos Ferrero who of course would have all the secrets to get one up on his main rival.
But in addition of course, there has to be contact and if there isn't that is just a pipe dream. He enjoyed a seven year stint with Alcaraz guiding him from being a prodigy to a dominant figure in the ATP Rankings and albeit he will lose his World No.1 spot likely soon for a short time, they won six Grand Slams under his tutelege.

No Sinner offer forthcoming

Alcaraz announced they were going to split when he was at the peak of his powers with Samuel Lopez who coached Pablo Carreno Busta prior and was more of a travelling coach when Ferrero couldn't make it due to surgeries or long travel was mad head coach.
Ferrero took a short break and is now working with a young Spanish golfer in Angel Ayora working on mental and professional development albeit short term with Ferrero who is like Patrick Mouratoglou in having his own Academy where ironically Alcaraz still trains taking his time in Marbella to weigh up options. He has said though that he has had offers from different sides of the divide from both ATP and WTA but that Sinner has not been one of those.
“Just rumours. I haven’t had any contact with Jannik. I’ve been in contact with other players, but not with him," said Ferrero to El Pais.
“It happens a lot in sports. A coach might be with one team and then coach a rival,” he continued. “If one relationship breaks down, other possibilities open up.

“I get along well with all the players and teams on the circuit. When the time comes to coach someone again, we’ll see who it is.”
He also unfollowed Alcaraz on social media and said though that it is part of a feeling of sadness that it is over but that he is at peace with it now and that he is glad he is doing well and he is also doing well now.
“When there’s a breakup like that, you feel sad at first, and then you’re left with a feeling of sadness for such a beautiful relationship that’s over,” he said.
“But everyone has to move on. He has, and he’s playing well and is happy. I’m also at peace, working at the academy and looking at new projects.”
