Cristian Garin alerts ATP after sickening abuse received after Rio Open defeat

Christian Garin alerted the ATP about numerous threats on social media after his latest losing effort at the Rio Open which resulted in a flooding of his social media channels.

Garin is not enjoying a very good start to his year as he suffered yet another loss. After losing early in Cordoba he also lost early in Rio and it resulted in plenty of abuse. Showing screenshots of some of the posts he got, Garin notified the ATP about receiving over 100 notifications since the loss.

He wrote:

"More than 1000s of dms with threats. Nice. @atptour."

It's not the first time Garin spoke up about getting abuse online as the Chilean did it last year as well after losing in the 3rd round of the Australian Open.
