The draw of the 2020 New York Open features names of the 3 past champions which will be trying to challenge the first-seeded John Isner in search of the title

Milos Raonic, Reilly Opelka and Kevin Anderson will be wanting to add another trophy from New York to their cabinet. The tall Canadian triumphed in years 2011-2013. Anderson managed to win in 2018 and Opelka is the last champion at the New York Open. However, John Isner will be trying to add his first title from New York and destroy the chances of the past champions.
Isner did not have a good start of the season when he lost all 3 matches at the ATP Cup. However, then he reached semifinals in Auckland but had to withdraw in the 3rd round of the Australian Open.
The third-seeded 2019 champion Opelka did not win a match since the 25th of October 2019. He lost in the first round in Adelaide to Cuevas and he was not successful at the Australian Open when he lost to Fognini.
The second-seeded Raonic will be probably the biggest favorite to add the 4th title from New York to his collection. The Canadian was in a stunning form in Melbourne when he was stopped by Djokovic in the quarterfinals.
The 4th seeded Humbert might also be an interesting prospect to watch in New York. The 21-years-old Frenchman managed to win his maiden ATP title in Auckland but he lost the following two matches in Melbourne and Montpellier.
Kevin Anderson started the 2020 season after. Any of the mentioned players can become the champion or maybe there will be a new champion in New York in 2020.
