After a lengthy battle with Nike, Roger Federer has finally retained the rights to his iconic "RF" logo.

The Swiss superstar parted ways with Nike to become a brand ambassador for Uniqlo in 2018. However, he was unable to use the emblem on any new apparel as Nike registered the trademark "RF" logo in 2009.

Nonetheless, it seems the 20-time Grand Slam champion has reacquired the rights to the logo as the delay was to allow the sale of the rest of Federer’s Nike apparel. The 39-year old took to social media to make the announcement on Tuesday. He also released a statement on the official Uniqlo website, stating:

"This hat has meant so much to me and to my fans over the years. It has given us a way to visibly connect, and I have appreciated the opportunity to thrive off this supportive energy.”

Federer and Uniqlo are now ready to produce "RF" branded merchandise, starting with the RF cap. It will be available in eight different colors and features a play on the lettering of “Go Roger” on the back, as well as the Uniqlo insignia.

Fans can purchase the RF hat starting December 8.
