Novak Djokovic wants to ensure he ends this season on the ATP Tour in a positive way, revealing his goals ahead of the 2023 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin and the Davis Cup in Malaga later this month.
The World No. 1 soared to victory at the Paris Masters last week, defeating the likes of Holger Rune and Andrey Rublev on his way to the final where he downed Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. This was a fitting continuation of what has been a hugely successful season for the 36-year-old, who won the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open to equal Margaret Court's record of 24 Grand Slam titles.
Moreover, Djokovic became the first player to win 40 ATP Masters 1000 titles with his victory in Paris and has extended his already record-breaking number of weeks at the top of the ATP Ranking to nearly 400 (398), which is almost 90 more than the next player on the list Roger Federer's 310 weeks.

Djokovic shares main aims ahead of season's end

Speaking after his win at the Paris Masters, Djokovic revealed that his two main goals were to end the year as World No. 1 and to help Team Serbia to victory at the Davis Cup Finals. Earlier in the year, Djokovic helped the team, which also includes players like Miomir Kecmanovic and Laslo Djere, to advance from their Group Stage in Valencia.
"I think I need one more victory to secure number one, that is my main goal, apart from the Davis Cup. The next three days are recovery, I will put the racket aside and spend time with the family to recharge. Then I will go to Turin, where each match will be like a final of a great tournament.
"Each meeting has many points, a lot of importance. I will arrive with good feelings, a lot of confidence. I haven't lost a match since the Wimbledon final, so I hope to finish the season on a high. Finishing the year number one and the Davis Cup are my main goals," he said.
Djokovic will be the top seed and the defending champion at the ATP Finals in Turin, which will take place from November 12-19. The other qualifiers are Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Holger Rune.

Novak Djokovic says finishing the year as world #1 & Davis Cup are his main goals for the end of the year: “I think I need one more victory to secure number one, that is my main goal, apart from the Davis Cup. The next three days are recovery, I will put the racket aside and…
