Alexander Zverev is working his way back to tennis yet the German is unsure whether he will be able to play at the US Open although he is hopeful.
Alexander Zverev suffered a shocking ankle injury at Roland Garros leaving him unable to play for multiple weeks. The German was not even able to walk by himself after the injury only being able to do so recently. In a video posted on social media, Zverev was seen walking without support albeit with a stabilizer on his ankle.
Now he's provided an actualy worded update and he hasn't give up on the US Open:
"I still haven't given up on the US Open, and, of course, I want to be part of the Davis Cup for myself. That's a goal because my brother and I are also involved with the organization to help bring the Davis Cup to Hamburg."
Zverev is positive about his rehab process as he understands it will get him to where he needs to be. He explained:
It's not difficult at all, I'm also looking forward to this work a bit, it's something completely new. It's clear that I'd rather play the tournament in Hamburg or train on the tennis court, but it's the way it is now. You have to go through it; everyone has their own way and you have to go through it. That's part of what I have to do now, and maybe next year, I'll come back even stronger."
