As Roland Garros approaches, the Daily Dose of Social Media reaches draw day in Paris with one piece of content outshining the rest as Alexander Zverev was drawn to play Rafael Nadal at the second Grand Slam of the season.

Our Daily Dose of Social Media shows you the moments that you may have missed from Thursday 23 May and the wacky content that the tennis world produces from Paris to Strasbourg to Rabat and down to London.

The shock as Zverev drawn to face Nadal

Those in the room at the draw for Roland Garros were left in utter shock as Rafael Nadal will face off against Alexander Zverev in perhaps his final French Open and the second to last time he is likely to play in Paris.

Nadal will likely play the Olympic Games in the coming months so he will likely play one more time. But it is very much deja vu for Zverev in particular. Back in 2022, he was on the verge of beating the legendary Spaniard. But instead he was helped off the court by Nadal after an ankle injury. He has only just come back now to his best. The irony is that as he is coming back to his best, he faces Nadal again. But can he end the career of the Spaniard on this great surface?

Raducanu hits the grass with Wimbledon in mind

Emma Raducanu copped some criticism for deciding against heading to Roland Garros and playing qualifying with the move to go onto grass then decided on. She will play again in short order with the former US Open champion signed up for Nottingham in the week after the French Open.

Raducanu was spotted all smiles as she head onto the grass at the National Tennis Centre in London and will look to show that her decision was certainly the right one heading into a vital juncture in her comeback.

Iconic moment from Collins

Danielle Collins will play in the Quarter-Finals of Strasbourg, but was on iconic form as ever during her post match interview full of side eye and eye rolling after being asked to speak French.

"May be a few words in French? We can try? Few words in French? Can we try? Few words? French words? Do you want to try?" he asked. But in hilarious and somewhat iconic fashion as usual for Collins, she rolled her eyes and gave side eye to the interviewer as he tried to make her speak French. She then promptly left the court at the end of the interview.

"Okay. Yeah. Let’s go," she said with a hesitant smile."Yeah. Put me on the spot, but okay," she added.

Peyton Stearns has the dawg in her

Peyton Stearns starred in Rabat on Thursday afternoon as she reached the semi-finals of the Rabat Open against Lucia Bronzetti who is fourth seed. The American won after being 6-4, 4-6, 0-5 down and 40-30 down.

Stearns came back to win in truly stunning fashion and the former NCAA champion was certainly happy with the fight on social media. The former posted pictures saying that she has the dawg in her followed by 'woof woof'. Certainly an incredible fight from the 22-year-old.

Naomi Osaka hinted at Iga Swiatek 'nightmare' before - now it will potentially come true

“I had a dream a couple days ago that the draw came out, and I had to play Iga,” Osaka told reporters in Paris back in 2022.

“Like for me, I was scared because I was thinking, like, what’s the worst possible player to play when I’m unseeded. She came in my mind, so thank God that didn’t happen.”

Well it has now happened with Osaka unseeded and potentially facing Swiatek in the second round. 'Clayomi' as she has now been dubbed much to her behest will face Sara Sorribes Tormo in the first round and Swiatek could await.

So in reality like the Zverev-Nadal effect, it is a deja vu again two years later for Osaka. Watch the spooky press conference below. But perhaps Osaka will love the match a bit more given her recent clay court preparation. The first round awaits first though.
