Milos Raonic's injury troubles continue as he has had to withdraw from the
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships next week after priorly being forced to abandon his Quarter-Final in Rotterdam this past week.
Raonic played one set against Jannik Sinner and appeared to be playing well pushing him to a tie-break. However after holding serve at the start of the second, he retired due to injury. Raonic received treatment during the first set for a right leg injury.
Still though he carried on without discomfort, before eventually giving in. He looks likely to have fallen fowl to the same injury when it comes to next week in Dubai. It was only a third tournament of the season after missing the Hong Kong Open prior to the Australian Open. He was also set to play in the Davis Cup, but did not play a single minute.
The eight-time title winner will look to be ready for Indian Wells, but since returning to the sport last year after contemplating retiring he has been on and off the court constantly. He has played only five tournaments and won just five matches. So the true gauge of what form he is in isn't really ever there. A sad state of affairs.
