Nick
Kyrgios met up with Mike Tyson and hinted at a future project.
The
Australian tennis player has been away from the ATP tour this year due to
injuries and is still recovering from a torn ligament in his right wrist.
During his downtime, Kyrgios has been exploring different opportunities and
teased a yet-to-be-revealed project with Mike Tyson.
He shared a
photo of himself with the former American boxer on Instagram, sparking
curiosity about what they might be working on together.
“Perfect
chaos. Something big coming," he wrote.
Later, the
28-year-old tennis player posted another photo to his Instagram story, showing
himself in a recording session that appears to be an interview or a discussion
between Tyson and Kyrgios.
Mike Tyson,
one of the most influential boxers in history, won six heavyweight titles,
making him one of the greatest of all time. Kyrgios' post with Tyson, as the
boxer blows smoke from his mouth, reminded some fans of the controversy
surrounding the Australian last year.
“Didn't you
once tell a referee that you can't stand the smell of weed?” asked one of
Kyrgios' followers.
In his
second-round match at the 2022
US Open, Kyrgios received a warning from the
chair umpire for offensive language. On that occasion, the Australian got upset
because he smelled marijuana coming from the audience.
'It was
f***ing marajiuana. It was smoke. Obviously I'm not going to complain about
food,” he said.
The injury
that kept him out of
Wimbledon is in the final stage of recovery, which
prevented him from participating in this week's
Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS).
However, he was present coaching Frances Tiafoe. After announcing that he
wouldn't be at SW19, Kyrgios had commented .
“I tried
everything to be able to play and I am disappointed to say that I just didn’t
have enough time to manage it before Wimbledon. I’ll be back, and as always, I
appreciate the support from all my fans,” he said on a letter before Wimbledon.
Kyrgios'
comeback could be seen soon, as he is registered to play in the ATP 500
Washington Open starting on July 31st, a tournament he won in 2022, and which
will serve as preparation for the Canadian Open.
