The Qatar Open is due to take place on the ATP side of the draw between 16-21 February 2026 and is an ATP 500 and a big part of the so-called Middle Eastern swing.
Andrey Rublev is defending champion and returns this time out with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner also slated for returns after the Australian Open. Novak Djokovic though has recently withdrawn so he will not be involved.
As ever too it is subject to change and not everyone will play but currently the top names are involved outside of Djokovic. It acts as the second part after the WTA tournament of the same name during the week commencing the 9th February.

Predictions Qatar Open ATP

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Alexander Bublik winning the title.
For a start I don't see all of the top names even playing here and with Novak Djokovic out I expect at least one of the big two not to bother here.
But I also see a strange winner in regards to sitting in a field with Sinalcaraz in Alexander Bublik who has been a perennial winner over the past year and will be a spoiler as ever.
He is playing this week in Rotterdam when this prediction is written so he is very much fresh and Andrey Rublev dominating this event tells you everything you need to know about the top names in this event. Also expect a good event from Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jakub Mensik and I'll throw Daniil Medvedev in there.
*** Alexander Bublik
** Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz
* Andrey Rublev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Daniil Medvedev

Alexander Bublik for champion?
Cristhian Avila, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Jannik Sinner as the winner.
The draw in Doha is full of stars, and this time I trust Jannik Sinner to regain confidence after the Australian Open and take the trophy in conditions that are especially favorable to him. His biggest challenges will – obviously – be world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, who I doubt will be too worried about bringing his best level and will have his mind more focused on the Sunshine Double, while Sinner has the motivation of a few months ahead without defending points, meaning that every tournament he plays will be an opportunity to gain points and close the gap with Alcaraz.
Among the names that could give him a scare are Felix Auger-Aliassime – who seems to be reigniting his ambitions after winning a new title at the Occitanie Open – and Russian Daniil Medvedev, on the verge of returning to the top 10, who has recovered both level and confidence following changes in his team. Also, Czech Jakub Menisk, who when physically fit this year has been nearly unstoppable with his serve. The conditions in Doha will favor the big servers.
The presence of Djokovic seems more anecdotal, a result of his commitments as a sports ambassador in Qatar. It would be a surprise to see him advance several rounds.

Theo Stodiek, Editor for TennisAktuell.DE sees Jannik Sinner also as the champion.
The Qatar ExxonMobil Open has quietly become one of the most intriguing early‑season stops on the ATP Tour, and this year’s edition in Doha feels tailor‑made for another Alcaraz vs Sinner showdown. With Novak Djokovic withdrawing shortly due to fatigue after his run to the final in Melbourne, the path has opened up even more for the two dominant forces expected to headline the draw.
If both bring something close to their best tennis, I slightly favour Sinner on these hard courts and over the best‑of‑three format. His dramatic five‑set defeat to Djokovic in the Australian Open semi‑final should serve as fuel rather than a setback, and Doha offers the perfect stage for him to underline that he remains firmly in the hunt for the No. 1 spot after Alcaraz extended his lead with the title in Melbourne.
Still, this is far from a closed duel. Andrey Rublev returns as defending champion and two‑time winner in Doha, a place where his aggressive baseline game has repeatedly clicked. Former champions Daniil Medvedev and Karen Khachanov will also fancy their chances, with Medvedev in particular likely to be highly motivated to bounce back from his early exit in Rotterdam after starting the year strongly with a title in Brisbane. Ultimately, though, my prediction is Sinner to edge Alcaraz in a high‑quality final, with Rublev and Medvedev as my main candidates to crash the party by pushing at least into the semi‑finals.
