Rafael Nadal withdrew from the recent Masters events due to a foot issue that has plagued him ever since Roland Garros.
The Spaniard was hampered by foot issues all throughout the clay season which prompted him to skip over the better part of the summer action. He returned in Washington where he played a couple of matches but the foot issue came back up again prompting him to withdraw from these events.
Now he cast doubt over his
US Open participation by electing to participate in a semi-amateur golf event in his native Mallorca. Nadal is a keen fan of golf and enjoys playing it often. He competes in amateur events when he gets the chance and he will do so in 2021.
The Balearic Islands golf event will feature the Spaniard who will not be preparing for the US Open during that time. Nadal has not confirmed his participation at the US Open and there were some doubts about it. Now it seems like there is a fair chance he might the event altogether.
