Canada’s tennis star
Milos Raonic will join the Team World
as an alternate player for the upcoming
Laver Cup 2023.
The 32-year-old was not part of the original team
announced for the mega-event but has now been included.
While
talking after being selected, Raonic expressed
excitement after becoming a part of a talented group of players.
“I’m excited to be selected as part of Team World again,”
said Raonic. “I look forward to doing anything I can to help Team World win and
repeat their Impressive feat like last year.
"It will also be very special for
me to be in Vancouver again after so many years. The Canadian fans are amazing
and being there with Team World will be an incredible experience and moment for
me.”
The tournament will be organised from September 22 to 24 in Vancouver.
Laver Cup remains a unique competition as it is played
between two teams — Team Europe and Team World.
The competition began back in 2017 as Team Europe started their
dominance and won the first four editions.
Last year, Team World finally managed to register their
first triumph as they emerged victorious with a score of 13-8.
