No doubt that Roger’s elegance and inspired tennis is unmatched as much as there is no discussion about who is the Goat. In that matter, sports achievements is the only metric.
Renown tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou has opined that despite Roger Federer having the most aesthetically pleasing tennis game, there is no doubt that long-time foe Novak Djokovic is the greatest player of all time (GOAT).
Federer and Djokovic have clashed on numerous occasions, with fans divided over whom is the greatest of all time. Federer retired in 2022, having won 20 Grand Slam titles. Conversely, Djokovic has won 24 Grand Slam titles, and could add more to his tally as the Serbian has shown little sign of slowing down.
No doubt that Roger’s elegance and inspired tennis is unmatched as much as there is no discussion about who is the Goat. In that matter, sports achievements is the only metric.
Rafael Nadal, who has also been labeled as the GOAT by some fans, was recently asked to name the player he enjoyed watching the most.
"Since I have a memory of tennis, Federer is the player who has impressed me the most, the one who has entertained me the most, the one who has moved me the most,” the Spaniard told El Pais. “Watching Federer play has moved me more than Djokovic, and in the end, tennis is about emotion; it’s the emotion that draws you to it.”
In apparent response to Nadal's statement, Mouratoglou took to social media to give his opinion, saying although Federer's game was unmatched when it came to elegance, Djokovic had the edge regarding sports achievement.
"No doubt that Roger’s elegance and inspired tennis is unmatched as much as there is no discussion about who is the GOAT. In that matter, sports achievements is the only metric,” wrote the 53-year-old.
