For the second time this season,
Sebastian Korda is victorious over Daniil Medvedev, one of only three players to defeat him twice with the American sealing a 7-6, 6-2 win at the
Shanghai Masters.
Medvedev complained yesterday about court speed after reaching the final of the China Open where he was defeated in two sets by Jannik Sinner.
But these slow courts didn't bother a certain Korda who came from Astana reaching the final which is known to be slow.
The opening set was close with neither player allowing the other to flourish as they kept it tight on serve. There were mini breaks in the tie-break after no break points, but Korda edged it 10-8.
Medvedev started to get more and more frustrated in the second set missing shots that he was putting away in the first and once Korda broke, he sailed to the finish 6-2. He hit three times as many winners as Medvedev and didn't give the Russian chances with only a break point given to him.
