Jiri Lehecka showed his class during his walk-over win over Daniil Medvedev and the same courtesy was afforded towards the Czech ace by
Felix Auger-Aliassime at the
Madrid Open.
Auger-Aliassime sent his support to his opponent after the Czech ace was forced to retire through injury. The former who for a long-time was a nearly man in winning titles no mind reaching ATP Masters 1000 finals is into his first. He has only won three times though. Jakub Mensik, Jannik Sinner and now Lehecka handed him walkovers.
This time it was locked in at 3-3 when Lehecka who suffered with back injuries prior to the tournament decided to call it quits. "Sorry for you Jiri, you'll be back," Felix Auger-Aliassime wrote on the camera.
In a coincidence, Lehecka also did the same after defeating Medvedev through walkover. So very much a mirror image and a classy way to end the tie. "Get well soon Daniil,” Lehecka wrote. Auger-Aliassime faces Andrey Rublev in tomorrow's final.
