Toni Nadal believes Rafael Nadal will defend Roland Garros if body heals: "Capacity for suffering, he will not lack"

There is a lot of doubt surrounding Rafael Nadal's future in tennis but his uncle Toni Nadal declared that the Spaniard will defend his trophy at Roland Garros in May.

Nadal injured his hip in the defeat to Mackenzie McDonald and it's left many wondering whether his body will keep betraying him. His last three exits from grand slams came because of injuries and Roland Garros is next up. According to his uncle, Nadal will defend his trophy if his body heals in time:

"My hope is now focused on seeing him, once again, raising his head and fighting to be at Roland Garros defending his options. Let's hope that his body responds because the commitment and the capacity for suffering, I think he will not lack."

Toni Nadal is certain of that but he seemed less convinced of Nadal recovering in time. Time will ultimately tell but the trend has been a very negative one.
