"Every moment spent by your side reminds me of how lucky I am to have you": Gael Monfils shares birthday message to daughter Skai

French tennis star Gael Monfils has shared a heartfelt message on the birthday of his daughter Skai.

The 37-year-old is married to a fellow tennis star Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina and they became parents last year.

Monfils, in a post on the social media platform Instagram, posted a heartfelt message on the birthday of her daughter Skai.

“Skaï, today, as we celebrate your first birthday, my heart is filled with emotions,” he wrote. “Every moment spent by your side reminds me of how lucky I am to have you. Your smile, your laughter, and even your tears have brought a unique color to my daily life. You've truly illuminated and transformed my world.

“For you, my little gem, I wish all the imaginable happiness and all the wonders life has to offer. Happy first birthday, my little princess.”

Despite having a great time in his family life, Monfils has had a hard time on the court this year where he could not produce any significant performance.

He played in the main round of two out of the four Grand Slams in 2023 but failed to qualify in the third round or beyond in any of the events.

He retired from the French Open in the second round where he was due to face Denmark’s Holger Rune.

In the US Open, Monfils lost to Russia’s Andrey Rublev in the round of 64 with a score of 6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
