Several players are set to see the
reward of their hardwork in the upcoming October 2023 ATP and WTA rankings.
Both associations have their own
rankings to appreciate the men’s and women’s tennis players for their
performance on the court.
In the upcoming
ATP rankings,
Bulgaria’s
Grigor Dimitrov is set to return to the top 10 after his impressive
outing in the Shanghai Masters.
The 32-year-old played in the
semifinal of the ongoing ATP 1000 event where he lost to Russia’s Andrey Rublev
with a score of 7-6, 6-3.
Even though he could not manage to
go all the way, Dimitrov did make a statement after defeating the current world
number two Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the round of 16 with a score of 5-7, 6-2,
6-4.
In the Women’s singles category,
two players are set to win big in the upcoming rankings —
Daria Kasatkina and
Qinwen Zheng.
Kasatkina went all the way to the
semifinal of the Zhengzhou Open to Czech Republic’s Barbora Krejcikova in
straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-0. She is now expected to be placed on the
11th spot in the rankings.
On the other hand, Zheng has
reached the final of the Zhengzhou Open after beating Italy’s Jasmine Paolini
with a score of 6-2, 6-3.
She is currently raked 24 but is
expected to book her place in the top-20 with a victory on Sunday.
