Djokovic may be able to do it due to one reason and that is the Coronavirus outbreak. It has caused tennis to essentially be shutdown for six weeks; allowing the Serbian time off before what the summer swing which will see Roland Garros and Wimbledon both played.
For him though, Roland Garros might be the main issue. He hasn't won there since 2016 and his clay court prowess isn't as good as his hard court; or even the grass where he has been imperious in the latter major over the past few years.
Djokovic only really like the others in the big three; only really competes in Grand Slam and Masters event barring when he has a lot of time off the court.
Despite that though, the first tournaments back depending on the state of the outbreak could in effect be the Madrid Open and the Rome Open both of which are ATP Masters 1000 events.
Roland Garros then approaches followed by the Grass Court swing; with the Serbian deciding against playing on the Grass Court ahead of Wimbledon which paid off.
He will be a player who in effect won't get a lot of time on the court up to then; so events like Queens where he has competed in the past could be a possibility especially with the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andy Murray already signed up.
It could be a mad scramble not only from him but other high up players to gain time on court; when the season continues barring if it is now played behind closed doors after the expiration of the postponement.
From there attention will turn to the Olympic Games with that event potentially in doubt also due to Tokyo being one of the countries affected. If it does take place though he will aim to pick up an elusive gold medal.
After that, it is the American Hard Court swing which will see him likely compete in one or two events before hand with the likes of the Rogers Cup and Western & Southern Open both Masters event for him to choose from.
This is before the Asian swing which could be changed due to the cancellation of so many tournaments including Indian Wells; but Shanghai could potentially be a target for Djokovic before Paris and the ATP Finals.
Could Djokovic complete the season unbeaten? While currently it's hard to say, the amount of time off could work in his favour; as he like Nadal and Federer all like to take extended periods off the court to recover and so we will only really see when the clay court season starts in May.
