On the opening day of 2023 Wimbledon, certain matches were interrupted due to weather at the end of play but this has continued to wreak havoc with most outside court matches not resuming.
As of writing, up to 28 matches have been cancelled for the day including opening ties for Maria Sakkari, Paula Badosa, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Jelena Ostapenko and Beatriz Haddad Maia.
Others further down the schedule including Frances Tiafoe v Yibing Wu, Mirra Andreeva's main draw debut, Bianca Andreescu and Barbora Krejcikova - Heather Watson have also been cancelled.
There is fear that with the current weather situation that no outside court action will resume today.
This means only matches on the show courts in Centre Court and Court No.1 featuring Andy Murray, Aryna Sabalenka, Ons Jabeur and Cameron Norrie will likely be played.
A top clash between Dominic Thiem - Stefanos Tsitsipas and Petra Kvitova - Jasmine Paolini and the end of Holger Rune and Taylor Fritz' matches are among those not yet cancelled.
Anett Kontaveit's potential retirement match could also be boosted up a few courts if cancelled too after outrage of her court position on Monday evening.
But many likely will be cancelled that aren't yet and even if play does resume, light will likely play a factor and mean that many will then be finished tomorrow anyway.
This in turn gives a logistical nightmare for the schedule with many matches still not finished from Monday and the second round set to begin on Wednesday likely featuring Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek on main courts who could be in the third round by the time many are into the second.
Like on Monday, the schedule release will likely be late as a result with the organisers likely scrambling to get as many matches done as possible while sticking to their start times.
