With the recent announcement of the
French Open taking steps to cull online abuse with AI being offered to monitor social media accounts of players, a study has shown the true extent of which players received the most.
Research conducted by World Sports Network as per Tennis365 measured the social sentiment of tweets mentioning players in a negative light as well as reaction to Facebook posts.
They did the same for both ATP and WTA and released the data.
Djokovic and Tsitsipas lead ATP negative sentiment
In terms of the ATP, it is
Novak Djokovic who leads the way when it comes to negative sentiment with many seeing him as selfish and hope he never wins another Grand Slam.
He is tied with Stefanos Tsitsipas when it comes to Twitter sentiment but on Facebook leads the way by 4%.
Carlos Alcaraz sits on 6%, with Cameron Norrie in the final spot on 4%.

Sabalenka tops WTA negative sentiment alongside Rybakina
On the WTA side, it is
Aryna Sabalenka who receives the most negative feedback when it comes to social media abuse.
The reigning Australian Open champion receives 15%, compared to
Elena Rybakina who also is the subject of 10% of negative feedback. Surprisingly next, it is French ace Caroline Garcia with 10%.
Iga Swiatek as World Number One receives 7%, with Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula ending the list. It is 5% for Sabalenka on Facebook and goes down in increments of one.
