One of the next WTA tournaments which follows Rome and starts to conclude the road to Roland Garros is Internationaux de Strasbourg which accompanies Rabat this year on the calendar.
It was the sight of Barbora Krejcikova's true breakout before she won Roland Garros last year and she leads the field this time out.
But it is worth noting that Krejcikova has withdrawn up to this tournament from Madrid and Rome and hasn't played since February and has withdrawn this time.
Leading the field as a result is Angelique Kerber and Karolina Pliskova, with an intriguing return also for Sam Stosur who supposedly retired at the Australian Open but seemingly may return to doubles.
Taking place between May 15-21, 2022, it is a WTA 250 tournament.
