Haddad Maia claims fourth WTA title with Korea Open win

Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia has won the Korea Open after beating Russia’s Daria Kasatkina in the final on Sunday. The competition, which was played in Seoul, Korea, concluded on Sunday, where some of the big-name players participated to showcase their talent and secure the ultimate prize.
In the end, it was Brazil’s Haddad Maia who came out on top in a contest that lasted just 10 minutes short of two hours. Kasatkina started the match on fire, winning the first set after losing just one game with a score of 6-1. She won 87.5 percent points on first serve, which was considerably higher than her opponent who won just 46.2 percent points on her first serve. She converted a couple of break points as well.
Haddad Maia made a grand comeback in the second set, where she won with a score of 6-4. The 28-year-old’s first serve performance significantly as she won 73.9 percent points, higher than Kasatkina, who won just 60 percent points on her first serve. Haddad Maia ended up converting a couple of break points as well.

In the third set, the current world number 17 was unstoppable as she won with a score of 6-1. She ended up winning 100 percent points on her first serve. On the other hand, Kasatkina, who won 87.5 percent points on her first serve in the first set, won just 38.5 percent points in the third set. Haddad Maia converted a couple of breakpoints as well. The match ended with a score of 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.
The victory was a special one for Haddad Maia as it was her first title this season and just fourth WTA title in her career. Earlier today, in the doubles category, Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Liudmila Samsonova lifted the doubles title after beating the pair of Miyu Kato and Zhang Shuai in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 6-0.
