Barbora Krejcikova completed the Roland Garros double on Sunday and after doing something that hasn't been done since 2000 she spoke to the media.
Not people had a better two weeks than Barbora Krejcikova who completed the first double at Roland Garros since 2000. The Czech player played great tennis in both competitions to end up as the singles and doubles champion. After completing the double she said:
“Thank you to everyone for giving us such a nice atmosphere. It was amazing, the same yesterday it was really nice, I really enjoyed [it]. I feel super relaxed and I feel really good on this court so thank you so much."
Krejcikova had a lot of help from Katerina Siniakova in their doubles run towards the title. She thanked her after the final saying:
“For sure I wanna thank my partner (Siniakova). She is always there, she’s been [with me] for so many years. I’m just really happy that we are doing so well and I’m looking forward to continuing together."
The 2nd seeded players are not done yet however ash Krejcikova noted during their victory speech. They will try their luck representing the Czech Republic at the Olmypic Games in Tokyo later. On that she said:
“Hopefully we’ll also have a good chance at the Olympics and that we’ll enjoy it.”
