Russiaโ€™s young tennis star Mirra Andreeva has revealed her goal for the rest of the year.
The 16-year-old has been very impressive in her very short career at the highest level and is coming after an impressive Wimbledon 2023.
Andreeva was quoted in a report recently where she stated that her goal is not to cement her spot in the top 50 women players.
"At the beginning of the year, I wanted to be in the top 70,โ€ she said. โ€œBut now I'm 66 so one goal is done. But till the end of the year, maybe to be in the top 50.
"If I can do it, it would be amazing for me for sure, but If not, I have maybe 20 more years to do that. So I think I will get a chance to be top 50."
The Krasnoyarsk-born was eventually knocked out of the third Grand Slam of the year after losing to Americaโ€™s Madison Keys with a score of 6-3, 7-6, 6-2.
Andreeva also recently took part in the Swiss Open where she was knocked out of the competition after losing to Anna Bondรกr of Hungary in the second round with a score of 7-6, 6-3.
