American tennis phenom added her name to a select few after lifting her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2023 US Open, prompting colleague Ons Jabeur to reveal she always had faith in Gauff's ability to win the big one.

Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final on Saturday, becoming the youngest player to win in New York since Serena Williams did so at the age of 17 in 1999.

Tunisian tennis star Ons Jabeur was one of the millions overcome with joy at Gauff's victory, and the World No.7 stated she always knew the American could do it.

"I’ve always said Coco will win her Grand Slam one day," said Jabeur. "It’s amazing to see that she’s playing good. And most importantly, she’s having fun on the court. That’s really amazing."
