The 2021 edition of the Delray Beach Open starts on January 7 with the main draw singles matches. Andy Murray has joined the field, taking a wild card for Delray Beach debut.
The 29th edition of the ATP 250 tournament should bring exciting matches from the opening round, with Milos Raonic, John Isner, Andy Murray, Reilly Opelka, Kei Nishikori fighting for the season's first title. Four former champions are in the draw, together with some big names who have never celebrated here, like Raonic, Isner and Murray.
The organizers are doing their best to host 2,000 fans per session, following all the safety and health measures and taking care of every detail to secure the best conditions for both the players, fans and on-site workers.
In 2020, Reilly Opelka defeated Yoshihito Nishioka 7-5, 6-7, 6-2, overpowering the Japanese rival to celebrate the crown at home and add the second ATP trophy to his tally after New York 2019.
"We are working hard on securing 2,000 fans per session. You have to be extra committed, and there isn't anything that is going to change that. Right now, we are implementing the highest standards. Every other row, four seats on, four seats off, staggered, so nobody is sitting in front or behind anyone. We don't have to do that, based on rules in Florida, but we are doing it to ensure the comfort level and safety of fans," tournament director Mark Baron said.
