The Laver Cup has finalised the Team World roster, with Andre Agassi confirming Tommy Paul and Learner Tien as the final additions.
With this, the squad is fully confirmed and includes the already announced Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur and Alexander Bublik. Team World are the defending champions, after lifting the trophy back in 2025 — with Fritz and De Minaur as the only players returning from last year’s edition.
“Tommy and Learner are fantastic additions to our team,” Agassi said. “Tommy brings valuable Laver Cup experience and understands what it takes to compete and win in this environment, while Learner has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young players in the game. Together they complete a very strong and well-balanced team, and I’m excited to see what this group can achieve in London.”
Team Europe, on the other hand, still have two names to be defined, although no major surprises are expected considering the four already confirmed players were part of last year’s team, led by Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev.

Team World finalises its line-up

Team World have now completed their line-up, and only the final two players remain to be announced for Team Europe. The tournament will take place this time in London. De Minaur and Fritz are the only players who were part of the title-winning team a year ago in San Francisco — where Francisco Cerúndolo, Alex Michelsen, João Fonseca and Reilly Opelka were also included.
Paul was already part of the team, having represented Team World in the 2022 and 2023 editions. Currently ranked world No. 24, and still in the process of returning to peak form after coming back from injury, he also places inside the top 10 of the ATP Race — that is, only considering points earned in the calendar year.

“I am so pumped for the opportunity to compete for Team World in London,” Paul said to ATPTour.com. “I was disappointed to miss out on playing under Andre and Pat Rafter in San Francisco, so I’m thrilled to be back. I’ve experienced what makes the Laver Cup so special and there’s nothing quite like sharing the bench with these guys.”
On the other hand, Tien will be the new addition to the tournament, making his Laver Cup debut. The 20-year-old is already ranked as American No. 3 and sits inside the top 20.
“It’s a huge honour to be selected by Andre and it’s very special for me to represent Team World,” Tien said. “Tennis is so often an individual sport so being a part of a team is something I never take for granted. I’ve been watching Laver Cup since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to experience the incredible atmosphere of the event as a player.”

Europe’s core remains intact as Alcaraz and Zverev lead

On the European side — led by Yannick Noah — the team will, as in 2025, be led by Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev. The Spaniard remains fully confirmed despite time away due to injury, while Zverev will make his seventh appearance in the Laver Cup, extending his all-time appearance record.
To them will be added Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Menšík — both of whom were also present a year ago. The final two European names remain to be confirmed in the coming weeks, completing the squad.

A year ago, Holger Rune and Casper Ruud completed the team, although the Danish player’s inclusion now looks unlikely given he is still recovering from an injury that has kept him out since October, with no confirmed return date yet.
As for Ruud, it would be a surprise if he were left out, considering he has featured in the Team Europe squad in the last five consecutive editions (2021–2025), being part of the winning team on two occasions. The Norwegian has in fact already surpassed Roger Federer in Laver Cup appearances by reaching five, equalling Frances Tiafoe and Fritz, and sitting only behind Alexander Zverev, the player with the most appearances, with a total of six in his career.
