Indian Wells kicks off on Wednesday 4 March. Going into the tournament, Carlos Alcaraz leads in terms of the Prize Money Leaders with the Spaniard taking a lengthy lead but perhaps it is a surprise who is second with Jannik Sinner only marginally in the top 10 so far this year.
Alcaraz leads the way with $3.3m going into Indian Wells boosted by triumphs in Australia as well as winning recently in Qatar over Arthur Fils. He will return again this week aiming to take his form to new heights at Tennis Paradise.
But it is Alex de Minaur who has been one of the most in-form players on tour for quite some time playing almost the Jessica Pegula in the WTA role of consistency who follows on. He sits on $1.46m ahead of Novak Djokovic who will have the chance to claim second.
He is set to play in California perhaps surprisingly given that he has often snubbed the event in recent years and not played again until the clay court swing. While we have Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev who lead the top five off ahead of Ben Shelton and Felix Auger-Aliassime, two players who also have been superb this year.
Medvedev though is this week's big story and big mover. The Russian though may not even make it to Indian Wells given all the travel issues that continue to be ongoing in the Middle East. He is having to likely take a car to Oman then a flight to Turkey to Armenia on a private jet with Andrey Rublev.

Tiafoe, Cobolli, Griekspoor rise

Then with one of his best friends in a sort of side quest that both will likely look back on post retirement with some sense of amazement, they will then fly to America in time for their first round games this weekend.
He is up to fifth in the Prize Money Leaders going from $538k last week to $1.1m this week. He is up 13 spots and adds $572,000 to his total. This is the biggest overall change in both rank and money.
After a good week in the States, Frances Tiafoe also rises. He goes up 17 spots from 39th to 22nd. While Flavio Cobolli after winning Acapulco moves up to 12th from 34th spot. Tallon Griekspoor also gets a reward as he shifts up to 14th up 19 spots from 33rd.
Frances Tiafoe returns on the run.
Frances Tiafoe has risen this week.
He will be out though for the rest of the month in what is a tough pill to swallow after a great week in Dubai where he reached the final before losing to Medvedev by walkover as he just couldn't continue.
Down spots include Alexander Bublik who is down to 15th after the latest update from 12th. Sebastian Baez shifts down to 23rd from 19th. While Hubert Hurkacz goes down to 10th down two spots.
The biggest winners this week overall are Medvedev, Cobolli as well as Jakub Mensik up 51k while Felix Auger-Aliassime has added 138k.
