Rafael Nadal withdraws again from another tournament,
Carlos Alcaraz has been left worried about a future dream not happening with the duo initially seen as likely teaming together in doubles at the Olympic Games.
With the Olympic Games in sight in the coming months and being on clay, the final stand of Nadal has been mooted for Roland Garros and the tournament pre US Open. But with current injury doubts for which Alcaraz doesn't know anything about himself, him getting onto the clay will be an achievement at the moment.
With both players not being part of the Davis Cup team, they will also need special dispensations in order to even play meaning effort and also surety in particular on the side of Nadal is needed. Since returning at Brisbane at the turn of the year, he has withdrawn from all other tournaments with a back injury currently hindering his serve.
"At the moment, I don't know anything about his condition, or how he [Rafael Nadal] is doing. Obviously, as a Spaniard and a tennis player, I'm worried about that," he said, as quoted by Tennis Majors.
"Let's see how he and I get there, in the end there are still four months left. Anything can happen, but I hope it can happen."
