The Schedule of Play all kicks off with Thiago Monteiro and Roberto Carballes Baena with all singles matches taking place on the Centre Court today at the Chile Open.
The duo have played each other three times at Challenger level and interestingly enough all on clay which might benefit the Brazillian. Despite that though all three matches never saw him dominate and as a result we could see another close tussle here.
With the altitude though and as a result it benefiting Monteiro due to being ultimately Brazilian could help him in this game but it will be an interesting one to watch to see if this does ultimately make any difference.
Thiago Seyboth Wild has been a bit of a revelation moving up to World No.177 and making a real rise and with him not set to defend any points in the coming months, he could go under the radar and make some real strides.
He has his toughest test yet though against Juan Ignacio Londero. He reached the last 16 of the French Open last year and claimed the title in Cordoba and has been in supreme form as of late, so it could be the end of the road for the 19 year old.
Juan Pablo Varillas against Albert Ramos Vinolas follows this. The Peruvian has come a long way in the past year and now sits inside the top 150 but faces different level opposition in Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
Ramos will be wary after his defeat to Carlos Alcaraz last week in Rio but a lot of that could be due to pressure more than anything and with less on him here he could stride through.
Cristian Garin and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina follow that in what is the match of the day. Garin has been exceptional this season winning two titles including Cordoba and ten matches consecutively and is very much the favourite to lift the title this week.
This could help the Spaniard though with no pressure on him at all and if Garin doesn't play well from the get go, it could lend into the hands of Fokina. Overall a very interesting tie to end proceedings.
