He defeated Richard Gasquet in a straight sets 6-3, 6-4 win with the Belgian exhibiting some of the form of his life in Cincinnati dropping only one set so far in the tournament. Next up is either Novak Djokovic or Daniil Medvedev in the final on Sunday.
The World No.19 has been in good form this year having reached the final in Halle and the Quarter-Final at Wimbledon and has continued that onto the hard-court season.
As a result it is his 13th ATP Tour final and one that he will hope to convert after losing out to Roger Federer in Halle a few months prior.
In the contest with Gasquet, Goffin sprinted into a 4-1 lead and a break with a backhand winner underlining that. From there he converted the set 6-3.
It looked like the Frenchman was getting back into the contest when Goffin lost concentration and went 2-0 behind but he claimed the next five out of six games to go towards the finishing line and he did so after one hour and 16 minutes out on court.
He reached the semi-finals last year in Cincinnati but had to withdraw due to injury so will be pleased to go the whole way to the final this time around.
