The ATP Finals is only on its second day, and already it looks as if Jannik Sinner has the upper hand over Carlos Alcaraz and the rest of the field.
The eight players will stay in the five-star Principi di Piemonte Hotel in Turin while competing over the week for glory. It is a luxurious place for the eight best players on the ATP Circuit this year to accommodate themselves in, but it seems that Sinner has been given a better room than his on-court rivals.
Reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian will get to stay in £3,500 a night room. It boasts private bar, a wellness area with an exercise bike, and a jacuzzi. Sinner will have a plethora of activities to do without even leaving his suite. It is the best room on offer in the hotel, with the description of it confirming that status. "The Presidential Suite at the Principi di Piemonte Hotel is considered a true icon of luxury, now named after Maria Jose, the last queen of Italy. Located on the top floor, it offers a splendid panoramic view to enjoy the city from a truly privileged vantage point," it reads.

Sinner looking to reclaim his title

The four-time Grand Slam champion will take whatever advantage he can claim over his fellow tennis stars in Turin this week. While most people dream of spending a night in a room that prestigious and high class, Sinner gets to experience it first-hand. However, he will be hoping to spend more time on the court than in his hotel room.
He kicks off his fourth ATP Finals campaign with a repeat of the recent Paris Masters final against Felix Auger-Aliassime. They have also met in the US Open semi-final. On both occasions, Sinner managed to clinch victory over the Canadian, who is making just his second appearance in this coveted event.
Sinner goes into the event as the red-hot favourite. He is currently on a 26-match unbeaten streak on indoor hardcourts. It includes his title run last year where he did not even drop a set enroute to glory. This year he triumphed over the world number one Alcaraz in the Six Kings Slam for a second consecutive year while also picking up titles in the Vienna Open and Paris Masters. Adding to that, he has dropped just one set indoors in 2025.
This tie will be followed by his other two Round Robin clashes against Alexander Zverev, who he defeated in the Vienna final and Paris semi-finals, and Ben Shelton. He will fancy his chances against both players. Three wins may once again prove to be crucial for the 24-year-old who has eyes on the number one ranking, currently held by Alcaraz. Ahead of the tournament he was in that spot but was dropped down to second after the 1,500 points he won in Turin last year came off. To earn these back, he needs to win every tie ahead of lifting the trophy. This will give hi, the best chance to dethrone Alcaraz at the end of 2025 at the top of the rankings.
The Spaniard has begun his campaign off strongly, defeating Alex de Minaur in straight sets. He played at a very high level to overcome the Aussie and will be hoping to keep building on it as the event progresses. Surprisingly, he has never made the final of the event. In his two previous participations, he reached the semi-finals before failing to clamber out of the group phase in 2024. With the tennis he has played this year, he will be stiff competition for Sinner if they clash on court. However, Sinner's lucrative hotel room may be the difference between triumphing and going home empty handed.
