Stefanos Tsitsipas has launched legal action against his former physio after allegations were made last week about the relation of his coaching partnership with his father Apostolos.

Tsitsipas broke up the partnership with his father last month after the Greek was defeated by Kei Nishikori in Montreal. He had seemingly grown frustrated by his father's persistent shouting from his box.

He launched an outburst but then decided to dispense of his father. He has since said he regrets his words but still dispensed of his father. Jerome Bianchi has since made allegations about the Tsitsipas' team alleging that his coaching made it difficult for other players to concentrate.

He also said that he felt like he was trapped in the working relationship with his father. But in technically denying said allegations, they have now taken legal action against the ex-physio.

A statement to Tennis 24 read: "Regarding the republishing of the article of the French newspaper ‘L’Equipe’ containing statements by the former physiotherapist of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jerome Bianchi, with whom the collaboration ended in 2022, we would like to inform you that the Tsitsipas family has instructed the Papathanasiou-Confino law office (Paris) to take the necessary legal actions, so as to restore the prestige and dignity of the family, affected by the statements of the physical therapist in question. You will be informed soon about the development of the case.”

He has not yet hired a new coach amid the recent issues. "From now on, his role will remain within the confines of the father role, and that alone. My father will continue to travel with me and be there to support me and provide assistance off the field, as I have always wanted. I have trusted my father with the coaching role for so many years, and I consider our partnership to be successful," he said at the time.
