Andy Murray
revealed the three tournaments he would like to win before retiring.
The
three-time Grand Slam champion answered some questions asked by fans on the ATP
Tour Radio Podcast, where he was interviewed. The former world No. 1 named the
Australian Open and
French Open, where he reached five and one finals
respectively, in addition to four semifinals.
The British
player won his Slams at the US Open and twice at Wimbledon, so the other two
trophies separate him from a Grand Slam career. Murray also added
Indian Wells,
where he lost the 2009 final to Rafael Nadal.
“The
Australian Open would probably be one of them,” said the World No. 52. “And the
French Open. And on the tour, Indian Wells. I've always loved the tournament
and always enjoyed coming back, so yeah, on the ATP tour - Indian Wells.”
He was asked
about his children's favorite tennis player, the 35-year-old tennis player
admitted that they do not watch tennis and only know his brother, Jamie Murray.
“My kids
don't know any tennis players,” Murray said. “They don't watch or follow at
all, unfortunately, so I don't have an answer to that, maybe my brother. Probably
the only other one they know.”
Murray's
next challenge will be at the Aix-en-Provence Challenger, and he will make his
debut in the first round against French player Gael Monfils tomorrow.
