As the end of the 2020 season draws closer, players are looking forward to next season and for Felix Auger-Aliassime, David Goffin and Karolina Pliskova, this wil be with new coaches.
All three have announced in the past week that they will split with their coaches at the end of the 2020 season.
For Auger-Aliassime, he has parted ways with longtime coach Guillaume Marx after a year which has seen him end with a 23-17 record which has included three finals but he is still without a maiden title.
The Canadian said the following in a statement on social media: "I’ve recently decided to part ways with my long term coach Guillaume Marx. Our collaboration ends in the utmost integrity and respect for one another. In the last six years, I have had the chance to work with a coach that was passionate and devoted entirely to my career and the success of my project.
He helped me develop as a tennis player and a person regardless of the many challenges we faced along the way. He is a big reason why I’m now at this stage of my career and that’s why I think we can be proud of what we’ve accomplished together. On top of it all, he has taught me fundamental values that will serve me for the rest of my life.
That, for me, is priceless. I will remember only positive memories of the moments we’ve shared and I take this opportunity to wish him all the success he deserves in his future projects. On my part, I will keep working with Frederic Fontang and the rest of my team."
Goffin has also split from his longtime coach Thomas Johansson: "After almost two years together, our partnership has come to an end. I want to thank David and his whole team for this time together and I wish him all the best for the future."
This comes after a poor run from the Belgian who has gone out first round in every event he has played since the US Open including against Norbert Gombos at the Paris Masters.
Pliskova will also split from Daniel Vallverdu following a disappointing 2020 season. He joined her team in November 2019 and she defended her Brisbane International title in January.
But since then, she has not claimed another title and not made the second week of a Grand Slam this year.
With the WTA season ending for most in Ostrava, she has already started to prepare for 2021 and without Vallverdu and has said it is due to 'time commitments' in an official statement.
