In a clear message to Aryna Sabalenka for complaining about receiving a smaller cake than the one Carlos Alcaraz received at the Madrid Open, former player Tomàs Carbonell has posted a message on his Twitter account in which he recalls a similar situation in his career.
The Catalan was born a day before Roger Federer and in a tournament (he does not give his name) he was presented the day before the Swiss with a doughnut with a candle.
The next day, the Swiss received a three-decker cake and a very expensive watch. He explained:
"Federer was born on the 8th of August and I was born on the 7th. I coincided with him on those dates in a tournament. Federer was presented with a three-decker cake and a 30,000 watch. For me, a doughnut with a candle".
