Rennae Stubbs had high praise for the
US Open, as the tournament organizers announced they'd be collaborating with the historic Stonewall Inn.
The
US Open organizers announced in their press release on Tuesday, August 22 that the Grand Slam tournament had been certified by New York City's historic Stonewall Inn as a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. The Stonewall Inn is a national historical landmark that first advocated for gay rights in the 1960s.
The former coach of Serena Williams expressed her joy at the Grand Slam's decision to work with the iconic West Village landmark. Stubbs took to her Instagram stories to repost a video of her and Marisa Grimes, USTA's Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Officer, posing with the certificate that legitimizes
