With the first round finally complete at 2023 Wimbledon, the first week is coming towards its close with Day Five's Schedule now confirmed.
As ever, TennisUpToDate will preview proceedings with Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek all in action on Friday afternoon. As well as the conclusion to Andy Murray v Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Centre Court billing for Alcaraz, Swiatek and Djokovic-Wawrinka

Three of the main favourites for the tournament will continue their respective campaigns in a packed day of action.
It all begins with two players who are the respective ATP and WTA World Number One players but came into the tournament with doubts about whether they could translate that onto grass.
Both have shattered those perceptions with Carlos Alcaraz starting proceedings. He faces Alexandre Muller.
It will be their first ever meeting and it will be a daunting prospect for Muller with Alcaraz likely relieved it is him instead of Arthur Rinderknech who he defeated.
Rinderknech caused Alcaraz' trouble in his Queen's opener before he romped to the title. While for Muller, it is his first main draw grass-court tournament at junior or pro level so he is certainly up against it.
"I was still playing on clay courts one week ago, so I didn't expect anything amazing here," Muller said. "It was a beautiful day for me. It's just crazy that I won this match with my preparation. With the injury and the rain there was not so much practice."
But he does come in with some form after ripping up the Challenger Tour all season and playing well in ATP 250. Making strides on the tour, he now has the chance of all chances.
He will look to embody the Rafael Nadal shocks at Wimbledon in upsetting another Spaniard. Think Lukas Rosol and Gilles Muller, this upset would also be seismic.

Addition of Murray conclusion

Following Alcaraz is Andy Murray who will conclude his thrilling tie with Stefanos Tsitsipas not before 3pm.
Sat at 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 6-4 in favour of Murray, it could've been the right time to go off with the Brit having a fall onto his groin.
But he is one set away with the curfew at 11pm paying heed to any conclusion but anyone with a ticket will now get a real bargain.
Initially following Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek will follow Murray who like the former came in with even more doubts about her grass court prowess. Playing only Bad Homburg where she pulled out due to illness, she also has never made strides on the surface.
But has taken to it like she would clay or hard courts and been dishing out the bagels fresh from the oven at rapid pace taking down Lin Zhu and Sara Sorribes Tormo. Next up is Petra Martic.
This will be their third singles meeting with victory at Indian Wells for Swiatek in 2021, a thrashing in Madrid earlier this season and all scorelines have been emphatic. Likely the same here.
From a Head to Head that isn't littered to one that is. Stan Wawrinka - Novak Djokovic was priorly a rivalry for the ages and while the Swiss in particular has slowed down, it is one to still get the tongues wagging.
26 times they've faced off and Djokovic has won 20 of them. Never on grass though as Wawrinka pointed out and it was very much one that he was wanting to tick off without receiving a beating.
But with victories at the 2016 and 2019 US Open in recent meetings as well as the 2015 French Open, Wawrinka has form for producing in the best moments. Can he shock the world again?

Other talking points including Sabalenka, Jabeur, Kvitova, Zverev and Svitolina-Kenin

With the rain delays, many players are playing back to back days including Alexander Zverev who will face Yosuke Watanuki.
Petra Kvitova who voiced her displeasure at scheduling to not favour those still needing to play will resume her campaign against Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
They had the bag off between Sinner's Gucci and Rune's Ikea but they play back to back on Court No.3 against Quentin Halys and Roberto Carballes Baena.
Ons Jabeur finalises a Court One slate against Zhuoxuan Bai, Cameron Norrie faces recent Mallorca winner Christopher Eubanks and starting will be Aryna Sabalenka.
She faces the first player to defect from Russia in Varvara Gracheva who now represents France.
Jessica Pegula also continues her campaign, as do Elina Svitolina and Sofia Kenin against each other in a potential tie of the day outside the Main Courts.
As will be Daria Kasatkina - Victoria Azarenka. Other ties include Marta Kostyuk - Paula Badosa, Matteo Berrettini - Alex de Minaur and Lorenzo Musetti - Hubert Hurkacz in some real standouts. Top action wherever you look.
