Saturday sees the Ladies' Singles Final take place at Wimbledon with Ons Jabeur set to face Marketa Vondrousova to crown a first time Grand Slam champion and for the former, her revenge tour could conclude with Wimbledon glory.
As ever ahead of the clash taking place, TennisUpToDate will preview the tie in detail including the routes for both up to this point and what is on the line as they battle at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club.

Route to the Final: Ons Jabeur

The favourite to lift the title will be last year's finalist Ons Jabeur. Being on a revenge tour, she now has the final in her sights after losing to Elena Rybakina last year.
This disheartened the Tunisian trailblazer who has since failed to replicate that form with injuries also playing their part.
But has produced some of her best tennis at exactly the right time. A history maker already, she will aim to cap that off with a Grand Slam.
It has not been easy either on the run in for Jabeur who past seeing off Magdalena Frech and Zhuoxuan Bai has played some heavy hitters.
Starting with Bianca Andreescu who hit some of her best tennis in a long time during her run-in but folded in the latter half of the tie in her first scare.
Two-time Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova was swept aside, while Elena Rybakina went a set up but Jabeur went on to seal her revenge. She also was down against Aryna Sabalenka but showed great grit and resolve to seal a comeback win.
A player who was ahead in last year's final, she will look to show the mental fortitude to finish it off.

Route to the Final: Marketa Vondrousova

But in the final comes for a second Wimbledon running, an unseeded Czech player. Marketa Vondrousova won't want the same fate as Karolina Muchova though.
Vondrousova though has experience in Grand Slam finals losing in Roland Garros in 2019 and also lost the Olympic final.
But at the age of only 24 has the feel of a player who has been around forever but has dealt with many injuries and as she pointed out did not play for six months last year.
Making up for lost time on a surface she previously struggled on.
It has been the ultimate run for Vondrousova who being unseeded has toppled big name after big name.
Defeating Peyton Stearns, a rising American to open up. She then followed it with multiple Grass Court specialists so to speak in Veronika Kudermetova, Donna Vekic and then her compatriot Marie Bouzkova.
Both that match and Jessica Pegula saw her turn it around to win in two scares. Before taking down the darling of the tournament, Elina Svitolina.
A player adored by the British during this run, it seemed she played her final two games early and Vondrousova nearly won it in devastatingly quick fashion.
But Svitolina hung on to make the scoreline interesting. In the end though, Vondrousova used her experience of making a Grand Slam final to win through.

Head to Head

In terms of head to head, they are 3-3 though the Tunisian will be aware that both of her losses recently have come this season.
On big stages too in Indian Wells and Australian Open no less. But there is also the added element to this story of both being friends off the court.
The tweet below sees both embracing and smiling but friendship now goes out the window with one champion to be crowned on Saturday afternoon.
